My Australian tour of the coast between Sydney and Melbourne has been one of the most superb vacations I have ever done. Not only was the scenery fantastic, the Australian poeple were sociable and accommodating. There were also a heap of things to do.

There are plenty of car rental Sydney and car hire Melbourne options and that’s definitely the most favourable way to experience the coast. Car rental agencies are more than willing to assist you plan your tour and pin point the main attractions along the way. I found a great one way special to Melbourne at a car rental in Sydney.

I began my journey by heading south from Sydney through the Royal National Park. The Grand Pacific Drive is exciting. I spent a few hours in Wollongong and thoroughly loved exploring the many coastal villages along the way before spending the night at Jervis Bay.

The next day I took a cruise to see the resident dolphin population that Jervis Bay is best-known for. The lovely white sand beaches made it hard to leave. Continuing my journey further south, I managed to pick up some high quality craft items in Tilba Tilba.

I swam in the lagoon at Mimosa Rocks National Park and then drove a little further stopping to watch surfers at Tathra Beach. That evening I lodged in the trendy village of Metung and had a wonderful seafood platter in one of the lakeside eateries.

Wilsons Promontory National Park is home to great scenery and an abundance of wildlife such as emus, wombats and kangaroos. I spent an entire day hiking through eucalypt forests, exploring beaches and coves and climbing on granite mountains.

Next stop was Fish Creek, a small, quirky and thriving township with arts and crafts, books and cafes. I drove across the bridge over to Phillip Island, a popular family stop. At Nobbies Centre you can watch the penquins strutting up and down the beach and see one of Australia’s biggest fur seal colonies.

As initially planned, I ended my trip in Melbourne making my last stop at the heritage farm on Churchill Island. Hiring a car was a convenient and fun way to do this awesome coastal drive from Sydney to Melbourne. Next time I may get a car rental in Melbourne and do this trip the other direction!

The world’s smallest continent and biggest island is Australia. In size, it is nearly as large as the 48 adjoining U.S.. There are about 20.4 million people and they are generally concentrated in th eastern and southeastern coastal urban regions. This means that there are big open areas to explore in the remainder of the country, and this can often be done by car. Stunning coastlines, inland mountainous regions and verdant tropical forests with exotic plants and wild life are there for the traveler to discover.

You can easily organise for a car rental at the airport or hotel with an international drivers license or a validated American or European drivers licence. There are heaps of car hire companies providing many kinds of vehicles, from different makes and sizes of cars and SUVs to minivans, camper vans and RVs, minibuses, and 4WDs. There is a vehicle to suit any need or preference. Just to illustrate, camping enthusiasts can get camper vans that will sleep up to 6 people, and come fitted out with a microwave, gas stove, griller and refrigerator. Deluxe models will have double beds, toilet and shower in addition to the mini kitchen. There are 4WDs that would be suitable for more rugged terrain. If you are travelling on a budget, there are economy compact cars and economy campers. There are also convertibles and luxury large cars, if you want to travel in style.

Driving in Australia can be dissimilar from other countries: driving on the left side of the road, observing the different speed limits (in kilometres) and regulations in the States to be visited, checking weather and road conditions before travel, letting police know of travel plans if driving in rural areas, making way for the road trains (a semi-truck hauling 3 large trailers), etc. The car rental company will usually supply you with thorough information on driving rules and regulations, supplies to take (most importantly, plenty of water), procedures in case of emergency, potential dangers such as wildlife and driving at night, as well as accommodations, routes and resources on the road. Study and preparation in advance will ensure a successful and pleasurable car vacation in Australia.

You will have a better dive experience and will remain safe if you purchase high quality scuba diving equipment. Therefore selecting scuba diving equipment requires your undivided attention and understanding of the quality of available brands. Obtaining reliable scuba gear is money well spent as it is often the difference between life and death when unexpected events arise under the water.

Scuba diving equipment has not changed but is dramatically better since Jacques Cousteau made the first Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.

Quality manufacturers strive to produce safe, dependable and affordable scuba diving gear. There are a few things you will need to begin scuba diving including a mask and fins. One of the biggest advances for the recreational diver is the dive computer.

Diving computer give divers the ability to optimize the downtime, monitor performance and safety of people diving.

Scuba diving is a highly skilled activity, but if you have never worn diving equipment before, there are plenty of scuba diving courses available. It is wise to book a scuba diving course during your holiday as courses are often cheaper abroad, and special tips for local dives can be hugely advantageous.

Care should be taken regarding the quality of equipment, however just as important is the comfort and functionality,as noted above. Scuba Diving air tanks can be found in multiple sizes, but tanks that are too heavy or long for you will be a struggle to carry and the dive will be harder.
